Interim Management Accountant - Commodity Trading P&L Focus (6-Month Contract)

Location: London
Rate: £400-£500 per day (Inside IR35)

We are looking for an Interim Management Accountant with a strong background in managing P&L and financial reporting for commodity trading, ideally in sectors such as renewable energy, mining, or natural resources. This role offers a 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension, working with a leading global trading firm in the commodities space.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage P&L and balance sheet reporting for commodity trading activities, ensuring accurate financial performance tracking.
* Perform month-end reporting, focusing on financial assets and liabilities related to commodities such as energy products or metals.
* Support the Finance Manager in delivering key financial insights to senior management and operational teams.
* Contribute to financial projects, including ERP system implementation and process improvements.
* Work closely with the finance team to provide detailed analysis and reporting, enhancing overall financial controls.

Key Requirements:

* Qualified Accountant (ACA/CAANZ/ACCA/CIMA) with 2+ years post-qualification experience (PQE).
* Experience in commodity trading (renewable energy, mining, or natural resources preferred).
* Strong skills in P&L management and understanding of financial assets/liabilities tied to commodities.
* Audit and control mindset with solid knowledge of financial standards and compliance.
* Proficient in Excel and experience with financial systems.
