Interim Financial Controller - PE-Backed SME

• Location: London (Hybrid)
• Rate: £400-£500 per day (potentially outside IR35)
• Duration: 6 months (likely extension)
• Start Date: 1st April

A private equity-backed consumer goods manufacturer, with c. £10-15m turnover, is looking for an Interim Financial Controller to support its financial operations and strategic planning. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on, commercially focused role, ideal for a senior finance professional with strong data analysis skills and experience in PE-backed businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
*Owning monthly management accounts and producing analysis to aid commercial decisions.
* Catch up on budgeting and prepare for the financial year-end.
* Develop a 3-year business plan, including cash flow modelling.
* Implement key business KPIs and create a financial dashboard to support decision-making.
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including a review of top customers.
* Support financial due diligence and liaise with external advisors.

Candidate Requirements:

ACA/ACCA (or equivelant) qualified with 10+ years' experience (strong candidates with less experience will be considered).

• Strong data analysis and costing model experience.
• Knowledge of market price changes and their financial impact.
• Experience with SAGE 200 preferred.
• Previous SME experience in a PE-backed environment is essential.
• Food/FMCG or manufacturing background is a plus, but not required.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable handling investor queries.
• Hybrid working: London-based candidates preferred, with flexibility for remote work.
