Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a FTSE Listed Group to help appoint a new Head of Group Reporting.

The Head of Group Reporting is responsible for the preparation of all Group level reporting through the management of the group reporting team and for leading and improving the financial management, reporting and control environment of the group.

The group reporting team led by the Head of Group Reporting also supports the business area Finance Directors and their functions and works very closely with the Finance Planning and Analysis and Treasury functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the group financial reporting team to deliver on targets including mentoring, coaching and developing less experienced members of the Group and support wider finance teams.
  • Develop and maintain a strong financial control environment by challenging existing procedures and processes and designing, implementing and improving controls as necessary.
  • Provide technical financial support to business area finance functions including the delivery of sound financial information and support as required to aid management decision-making and rolling out and delivering training on accounting treatment under new accounting standards as part of a proactive Group Financial Reporting team.
  • Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Manual
  • Manage key external relationships including auditors, tax advisers and insurers
  • Control all monthly group accounting including timely and accurate delivery of monthly group management accounts
  • Oversee balance sheet control and risk management
  • Manage and lead all internal and external audit processes
  • Manage and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements including the production of the Annual Report and all Quarterly Interim Reports for the group under IFRS and oversight of the preparation of the statutory accounts for the group subsidiaries under all relevant GAAP.
  • Manage and control all UK corporation tax preparation and tax estimate calculations for the group with assistance from tax advisers, supporting the requirements of subsidiary companies as required
  • Ad hoc project work including e.g., support on capital exp

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified with a strong academic background. trong technical knowledge is essential to the role as well as the ability to form decisions and advise. The successful candidate will have a thorough detailed technical accounting knowledge to allow focus on balance sheet and cashflow reporting as well as income statement. Proven managerial experience and prior experience of management of a finance function is desirable
