Management Accountant - 6 Month Interim Contract With A Strong Opportunity To Go Permanent

Location: Slough

Salary: £65k

Working Model: Hybrid

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated individual looking to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic finance team while gaining exposure to various aspects of management accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis against budget, commentary, and income/expenditure reforecasting.

  • Ensure data integrity within the General Ledger through accurate maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Complete and review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, highlighting areas requiring attention and ensuring reconciliations are kept current.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register and assist with capital expenditure reporting, including journal postings.
  • Produce statutory accounts for group subsidiaries.
  • Develop an understanding of Service Charge income/costs and their impact on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Assist in accounting processes for the acquisition and disposal of assets or companies within the portfolio.
  • Perform credit checks to assess the covenant strength of potential customers and ensure financial viability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the wider Finance team and other business units.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (newly qualified / 2 years post qualification)
  • Strong understanding of management accounting, statutory reporting, and financial processes
  • Experience with general ledger maintenance and journal postings
  • Knowledge of Fixed Asset accounting and Capex reporting
  • Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Previous involvement with external audits
