This is an exclusive assignment for a Real Estate Investment Manager based in London's west end. They are seeking to hire a commercially minded Financial Controller to take on an all encompassing role.

This firm is entrepreneurial; the founders of the business are highly regarded and have grown the business from strength to strength. Their opportunistic approach has enabled them to capitalise on the property market including diversifying their investment strategies which has resulted in attractive returns to their blue chip investors. They are very much a people business that values the contribution of all their employees.

The CFO is looking for a Financial Controller, you is comfortable interacting with senior management on a day to day basis as well some one that has to desire to step in to a broader role with greater responsibilities.

Your role will comprise of 3 principal elements covering Fund Accounting, Corporate Accounting and Business Support.

Fund Accounting

  • Monthly and quarterly management accounts, NAV calculation and unit pricing
  • Statutory/year end accounts and liaising with the auditors
  • FCA/AIFMD regulatory returns
  • Quarterly analysis of fund property information
  • Report fund statistics and returns to IPD on a quarterly basis
  • Banking, facility negotiations and loan covenant compliance reporting
  • Work with fund managers analysing buy, hold and sell strategies
  • Financial and credit analysis of tenant companies/liaison with tenant finance directors

Company Accounting

  • Monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts for the UK Board
  • Monthly and periodic reporting packs for submission to the parent company
  • Statutory accounts and liaising with the auditors
  • Annual corporation tax computation

Business Support

  • Assist with new fund product development
  • Prepare financial models for new funds
  • Maintain spread sheets showing actual performance track record for all funds
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the fund managers and senior management

To be considered for this role:

  • A qualified accountant CA/ACCA/CIMA with 3-5 years post qualified experience with private equity or real estate fund accounting experience.
  • The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience of preparing accounts in a current or previous role is preferable but not essential.
  • An added bonus would be strong Excel modelling skills
