Financial Control Manager - Leading UK Challenger Bank - 12 Month FTC
Hybrid Working Model: Once a month in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Reporting
- Assisting with the monthly financial reporting cycle, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Contributing to the preparation of management information (MI) decks.
- Financial Oversight
- Supporting the timely completion of the bank's annual financial statements.
- Managing statutory reporting obligations, including year-end financial statements and tax compliance.
- Overseeing the daily reconciliation of customer deposits in line with regulatory standards, ensuring effective system integration and structured financial reporting.
- Maintaining robust financial controls in line with the approved control framework and delegated authority guidelines.
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors to strengthen control measures and address identified gaps.
- Acting as a key contact for external auditors, ensuring audit queries are handled efficiently.
- Process Improvement
- Identifying opportunities to optimise reconciliation processes and improve efficiency within the financial control function.
Candidate Requirements:
- Prior experience in a financial control role within the banking sector.
- Immediately available or under a notice period of less than 1 month.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA).
- Strong understanding of financial controls, IFRS, and financial instruments.
- Experience supporting internal and external audit processes.
- Competence in preparing consolidated statutory reports.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with UK tax regulations in a banking environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
