Marks Sattin are working with an exciting PE Backed FMCG organisation in Nottingham who are growing exponentially to recruit a Finance Director. The Finance Director will lead the finance function through the businesses future expansion plans.

The Finance Director will be a key member of the leadership team and key part of strategic decision making. Partnering with the Managing Director, the Finance Director will play a key role in the strategic development across the business, with emphasis on the bottom line, working capital and enhancing shareholder value.


Key Responsibilities of the Finance Director include:

  • Providing useful financial insights to help aid better decisions making and strategy formulation
  • Supporting the management team with key financial information and operational analytics
  • Interacting effectively with various stakeholders of the business and establihing yourself as a trusted business advisor
  • Driving a culture of accountability across the business and driving a continuous improvement culture
  • Managing and developing the Finance, Costing and HR Teams
  • Play a key role in strategic planning and follow up of monthly progress/reporting, both on financial control and business control (factory reporting)
  • Organising and managing the budgeting, forecasting, financial and management reporting process
  • Overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts including and exploring variances and detailed commentary
  • Preparation of the monthly board pack
  • Liaising with the Directors - supporting them with financial understanding & driving efficiencies
  • Managing year end accounts, statutory returns and liaising with banks, auditors and tax advisors


To be considered you must be:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experienced within an FMCG organisation (essential)
  • A hands on Finance Director with the ability to lead a team efficiently and effectively
  • A commercially astute and inspirational leader
  • Experienced in cost accounting
  • Have a continuous improvement approach
  • Able to demonstrate confidence when communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including Directors
