About the Commercial Finance Manager role at Burgess Pet Care in East Riding of Yorkshire 

1. Reporting on weekly and monthly sales and contribution reports throughout the business providing accurate and timely numbers along with explanations for any variances. 
2. Preparation of annual budget and reforecasts with associated reporting through to standard margin (before overheads). 
3. Managing the volume forecasting process with the Sales team to support production planning and supply chain.  Maintain and develop forecasting tools and feed this into financial forecasts. 
4. Business partner for Sales and Marketing, providing support to sales account management and performance analysis. 
5. Evaluating potential new business (product, brand and customer) to endure appropriate levels of contribution achieved. 
6. Continual review of profitability and performance on existing products. 
7. Manage the price lists within the business and promotional reviews (pre and post promotion) to report back on performance of customer profitability and advise on improvements where necessary. 
8. Analyse and report on credit note activity.
9. Work with the operational financial analyst on the standard costing process for all new launches and NPD. 
10. Contributing to the development of the systems used in the commercial finance area. 
11. Undertaking ad hoc exercises at the request of board members including any other requirements made by the company within your capabilities. 
12. Assisting the Group Financial Controller with statutory reporting, particularly year-end audit. 
13. Ensuring adequate cover is in place for any periods of absence and covering other accounting functions/roles when required.

In the 1980’s we focussed on small animal food at Cherry Tree Mill in East Yorkshire.
