The executive search market experienced a particularly positive year in 2017, where standard seasonal ebbs and flows did little to slow strong growth. Dealing largely with private equity houses, venture capital funds, investors and listed businesses, our market typically sees a slower build throughout the year, culminating in a flurry of activity post-Christmas, and last year was no different. Despite this cyclical nature, executive search maintained steady levels of activity that presented interesting new trends.

The biggest growth area currently is around tech enabled activity, with the rise of technology permeating almost every organisation and role within exec search. Looking ahead, we’re seeing clients demand CFOs and FDs who can adapt to change and innovation. Employers want added value from executive search, and are demanding solutions that are specific, focused and knowledge-based.
