The details

An inviting and challenging opportunity has arisen at a Tier 1 Global Investment Bank. After a period of prolonged growth and expansion they are seeking an experienced Product Controller to join them at VP level to oversee the Commodities Product Control business, products traded include Oil, Gas, Metals and Energy. Reporting directly to the Head of Commodities you will be managing a team of 3 Analysts.
You will be responsible for overseeing day to day P&L activities and also Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation processes of which you will have ownership on a monthly basis which will be presented with Senior Management. In addition to this you will be actively driving processes and improving process efficiency. You will be the point of contact within the business and be frequently interacting with various department such as Front Office, IT, Operations, Valuations Control and other Senior Management. The role is diverse and you will also be indulging and leading various ad hoc projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record with a Degree in a statistical based subject. You will come from an Investment Banking background and be a Senior AVP/VP candidate with a minimum 3 years Product Control experience gained within an Investment Bank. You will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) and have had exposure to and a thorough knowledge of Derivative products (Oil, Gas, Metals or Energy are preferential). The right candidate will have previous managerial/supervisory experience and have strong technical skills with good Excel + Access capabilities.
