Boutique Private Equity firm seeks to appoint a Management Accountant for a newly created and wide ranging role in their London head office. The firm are an established fund and focus on traditional private equity investments across Europe. Reporting to their CFO, this position would oversee all aspects of accounting and reporting for their corporate entities and will supervise and review the work of a part qualified studier. Ideally we're looking for a candidate from a mid tier accounting firm or someone with equivalent financial and management accounting expertise from private equity, funds management, financial services or commerce and industry.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing quarterly management accounts for the group including its FCA authorised management company
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for all group entities and group consolidation
  • UK lead on year end audit including main day-to-day contact with auditors
  • Oversee the work of a part qualified accounts assistant who covers all book keeping and transactional work
  • Issue sales invoices and manage the recharges between group companies
  • Detailed review of overseas offices monthly packs (prepared by outsourced accountants)
  • Assist in preparation of group cashflow projections
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual FCA reporting
  • Oversight of VAT and corporate tax returns
  • Monitoring of UK transfer pricing requirements (e.g. quarterly service fee calculation)
  • Involvement in plenty of ad hoc

Your background:

  • ACA, CA, ACCA, ACMA qualified and degree educated or equivalent
  • Hands on accounting experience with strong attention to detail
  • Proven credentials from a similar role in industry or via relevant experience gained in a mid tier accounting firm
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be well motivated, hard working and happy to operate in a small company environment
  • Knowledge of Excel to at least intermediate level
